Scrivener’s Books
Scrivener’s Books and Bookbinding is one of the Guardian’s “10 Best Secondhand bookshops in the UK”. The business was started by Alastair Scrivener in 1997 in a building that was originally a Victorian shop with living accommodation.
The cellar still houses the old kitchen range and stone sink and we have created a small museum there to give a taste of the shop’s history.
We have more than forty thousand books for sale over five floors, as well as greetings cards, maps, prints, and sheet music.
We sell antiquarian and collectable books all over the world and advertise some of our specialist stock on AbeBooks.
Come and browse our five floors of books, ranging from as-new to out of print and hard to find editions.
